Construction punch walks

Walk the unit.
The GC gets the punch list.

Construction Handover files drawings and warranties in. Unit Acceptance walks the unit and writes failures out — to the GC’s Procore punch list when the property is linked. Accept hands keys to operations.

Finish walk — 2 failed
Accept unlocks when every item passes or is marked N/A. Finishing now sends the 2 failures to the GC and opens Walk 2 for the re-check.
Opposite of handover

Docs in. Punches out. Same construction story.

Two doors start the walk — the units list, or the handover workspace. One tap creates it. No interstitial. A renovated unit on a stabilized property is walkable on purpose.

The doors

Start from units, or from handover.

Door A lives on the property units list. Door B is the handover workspace section labeled Unit acceptance. Same launch. The form cannot nest inside a row link — that’s why the chip sits beside Continue walk / Start acceptance walk.

  • Not walked — Start acceptance walk.
  • Walk in progress — Continue walk / Resume.
  • Walk failed — Review walk. Walk 2 re-checks the failures.
  • Accepted — stamped, with the date.

Punch write

The summary is the punch surface.

Heading: Punch items with the GC. Status vocabulary is closed: pending (Queued), sent, failed (Retrying), skipped (No punch line). Nothing here needs your attention unless a row failed — then Retry now. Each row carries its FixGrid reference so the GC’s list and this walk agree.

  • Writes only Action items, after Finish — not on every keystroke.
  • No Procore link: No punch line. Failure stays on the walk in FixGrid.
  • Unmapped unit location still writes; the name carries the unit label.
  • The one deliberate Procore write. Handover stays a read / import. Warranty defects are not a second write.

Punch items are written in the background and retried on a schedule — nothing here needs your attention. Each carries its FixGrid reference so the GC's punch list and this walk always agree.
Accept

The stamp is the handoff to operations.

Copy on the bar: Accepting hands the unit to operations — keys, owner access, and the asset records captured on this walk. The stamp quotes the closing rule: units shall be complete, punched out and move-in ready.

  • Appliance roster from the walk — 7 slots, captured or Not present in this unit.
  • Walk 2 re-check: Failed walk 1 tagged; Walk 1 passes can Re-open.
  • A decided walk does not block re-acceptance — a fresh walk can launch.

Module
Invoiced, priced per ask
SU opt-in, default off. Not a published Starter/Pro matrix row. Handover stays included in Professional; this walk is a separate invoice.
Procore
Write is available — not on for every customer
Needs an active project link. No production creds on every tenant. Unlinked properties still walk; punches stay in FixGrid.
Direction
Not handover import
Handover Procore is read / Map-Create-Park. This is the one deliberate punch write. See Construction Handover.

Tier: Shipped invoiced module, priced per ask — not a published Starter/Pro matrix row. SU opt-in, default off. Construction Handover remains the Professional document layer.

FAQ

Straight answers on Unit Acceptance

What is Unit Construction Acceptance?
A unit-grain punch walk. One tap starts it from the units list or the handover workspace. OK / Action / N·A. Failures enqueue to the GC punch list when Procore is linked. Accept unlocks when every item passes or is N·A.
How is this different from Construction Handover?
Handover is documents in — drawings, warranties, O&M, Procore import. Unit Acceptance is punches out — walk the unit, write failures to the GC. Same construction story, opposite direction. Construction Handover →
Does every failure write to Procore?
Only Action items, after Finish, and only with an active project link. No link: No punch line — the failure stays on the walk. Punch write is available when connected, not on for every customer. Setup guide: Getting started with FixGrid for Procore.
What about Walk 2?
Finish walk with failures sends those items to the GC and opens Walk 2 for the re-check. Accept unlocks when every item passes or is marked N/A.
Is this on every plan?
It is a shipped, invoiced module — priced per ask, not a published Starter/Pro matrix row. Construction Handover stays included in Professional. The walk is SU opt-in, default off.
