The real story

FixGrid was built by a single founder with deep roots in property maintenance, using Claude — Anthropic's AI — as a development partner. Claude handled architecture, code generation, debugging, and planning. The founder handled everything else: product vision, maintenance domain knowledge, experience decisions, and every judgment call that required understanding what it actually feels like to manage properties at 2 a.m.

The result is software that moves at a pace previously impossible for a solo builder — without sacrificing the domain expertise that makes it genuinely useful.

What AI made possible

Building FixGrid solo compressed what would traditionally take a small development team many months. Features that would otherwise have needed outside contractors were built in-house. Architecture decisions that would have needed senior engineering consultants were worked through in conversation.

What AI cannot replace

Every workflow reflects real maintenance operational experience. The ticket priority system, the make-ready turn tracking, the resident-portal design — these came from years of knowing what breaks, what gets missed, and what field teams actually need on their phones at 2 p.m. on a Friday.

Every concern about AI-generated code comes down to one question: did anyone actually review it? Our answer is yes — and we have the receipts. Before opening to early customers, FixGrid underwent a structured security audit covering every route, template, and service in the codebase.

Tenant isolation verified
Every database query touching customer data was audited for cross-company access. All write-path findings were resolved before launch.
Dependency hardening
All third-party packages scanned against known CVE databases before launch. Vulnerable dependencies upgraded, and dependencies are re-scanned with pip-audit before every push.
Static code analysis
Bandit SAST run against 75,000+ lines of application code (June 2026) — zero high or medium severity findings on app code.
Rate limiting on public endpoints
Login, signup, password reset, and every public form endpoint are rate-limited against abuse. The one public read without a limit only reports whether sign-ups and demo requests are open. Custom error handling returns nothing useful to attackers.
